Rarotonga Beach Bungalows overlooks a stunning turquoise lagoon on an idyllic sandy beach, on the quiet south coast of Rarotonga, immediately adjacent to Moana Sands Hotel. The five deluxe, authentic Polynesian bungalows are surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and sandy pathways, ensuring a laid-back “barefoot friendly” layout

The individual bungalows are all stylishly decorated with hardwood furniture, warm colors, tropical plants and traditional Polynesian finishes such as bamboo walls and ‘garden showers’.  These wonderful authentic bungalows achieve comfort and coziness that fits perfectly with the tranquil surroundings.  The three Beachfront Bungalows lead directly onto the raised sandy beach area, while the two Tropical Bungalows have larger gardens and stunning lagoon views.

All five traditional wooden, thatched-roof bungalows have cool, tiled floors and bamboo walls throughout, and high, decorated ceilings.  Pacific designs, historic art and canoe paddle collections decorate the walls to complete the island feel.  The spacious lounge has comfy seating with sofa and day bed, and comes complete with ceiling fans, CD player and direct-dial telephone including free local calls.  The kitchenette is equipped with microwave, fridge-freezer, gas cook-top, electric kettle, toaster, quality cookware and utensils, and unlimited purified filtered water.  There is a separate air-conditioned bedroom with split-king bed, roomy wardrobe, cable TV and clock/radio.  The attractive bathroom has ceramic basin, tiled vanity, safe, hairdryer, and a splendid enclosed tropical garden shower.  At the front, fully-screened double wooden and glass sliders lead out onto the large private wooden deck, which has a cushioned sun lounger and teak table and chairs.  Steps lead from the deck down to a contained sandy garden with further table and chairs, and leafy tropical greenery.

The slightly raised beach area has soft pale-golden sand, sun loungers, seating and shower.  This looks directly over the palm-fringed beach and sparkling turquoise coral-strewn lagoon.  The lagoon here is a marine preserve, protected from fishing and full of colourful reef fish, with fantastic and safe all-tide snorkelling.

The price of the Bungalow includes use of snorkels and kayaks, and also a daily breakfast served in the attractive “Totara” communal dining area.  This is decorated in the same island style and comes complete with sofas, tea and coffee making facilities and book library.  Next door to the resort is the popular “Pawpaw Patch” Restaurant.  There is also an on-site laundry facility and a day-use ‘transit lounge’ available for late checkouts (for a fee.)  This has two single beds and a shower.

With friendly and attentive staff, no children under 12 years permitted, and wonderful cosy accommodation; true rest and relaxation is assured in this gorgeous tropical haven.
