On-site facilities include a freshwater but rather tired looking swimming pool, the Beach Hut Activities Centre with windsurfing and lunch cruises or snorkel cruise with BBQ lunch option. There is car & bike hire, a tour desk, gift shop, DVD rental, internet access and laptops for hire, and a 24-hour reception. There is also ‘Pacific Island Massage’ offering reflexology, pregnancy massage, ear-candling, and holistic therapies.
The beachfront Lagoon Terrace and ‘Barefoot Bar’ offer cocktails and happy hour, and the ‘Sandals Restaurant’ is open all day for lunch and dinner. The menu is good and varied with light dishes under NZ$20 and grill dishes for an average of NZ$25. Island Nights are put on twice weekly with dinner and entertainment in the price.
There are 4 categories of Suites and Units and 7 Villas available. Interconnecting rooms are not available, but the Resort will put families in the same area. Every room is fully serviced and tastefully decorated, with air-conditioning and ceiling fans, a private balcony or patio, tiled floors, split-king beds and telephones, and there are fresh flowers put in all rooms on arrival.
Garden Studio: 8 appealing Studio Garden Units sleeping 3 people share a larger, lush garden area. These are also open-plan in layout and come complete with a dining area and kitchenette including microwave and mini fridge. A TV and DVD are available for rent, and safes are available in reception. .
2 Bed Garden Unit: The 8 two-bedroom Garden Units sleep a total of 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children, as they have 1 bathroom for the 2 bedrooms. These Units are open-plan, neat and compact with lounge and kitchenette with microwave and mini fridge. These have a patio area with chairs, surrounded by tall plants. Junior Suite: The 13 attractive Junior Garden Suites sleep a maximum of 3 people. These have a lovely modern and spacious separate bathroom, and an open-plan sleeping and living area. They come complete with TV, safe, sofa-bed and arm chairs, hand-carved wardrobe, sink, tea and coffee facilities, toaster and mini-bar fridge. The ground-level suites have a private patio at the rear which is sheltered from view by tall tropical plants and leads out to the pretty gardens. .
Beachfront Suite: The beachfront suites are similar to the junioe suites (above) but are located on the north side of the main area near the villas.
Beachfront Room: 15 lovely Beachfront Studio Units sleeping 3 people have gorgeous sea views and large patio areas that open out onto well-kept gardens with direct access to the beach. Also open-plan these units are spacious and airy with quality cane furnishings and a TV. The kitchenette has microwave and mini fridge, and the separate, tiled bathroom is modern with a large glass shower. Safes are available in reception..
2 Bed Villas: In addition to the above there are also 7 self-contained and well equipped Villas, all named individually after islands. All have full kitchen facilities including large fridge, full oven, microwave and toaster, a washer and dryer, and come complete with TV, safe and electric fans.
There are 4 two-bedroom Garden Villas that sleep 5 people. They have two-bedrooms both with ensuite bathrooms, and an L-shaped living room with full kitchen. Each has a large patio area with table, plus sun beds in a private garden area surrounded by tall, lush greenery. Featuring smart décor, high ceilings, pacific artwork and ornate hand-carved woodwork, these villas are a great option for a family.
The remaining 3 stand-alone villas are all larger and split-level. The two-bedroom Lagoon Villa and the Two-bedroom Beachfront Villa both sleep 5 and the three-bedroom Lagoon Villa sleeps 7. They have a bedroom/s and bathroom downstairs, and another bedroom with ensuite on the upstairs mezzanine level. This bedroom has its own additional seating and even a tiny terrace that overlooks the gardens. These Villas feature delightful large hexagonal living rooms with lovely furnishings, full of light from the 4 double-sliding doors. These open out onto the private garden and patio with barbeque, table and sun loungers. The exclusive Beachfront Villa enjoys a prime location, with direct beach access from its garden and stunning sea views.
Children up to 12 years stay free, and there is a free Kids Club for 6 years plus. There is also a babysitting service available. Included in the price of your room is a daily island breakfast-buffet, a welcome tropical drink and fruit plate in the room, and return airport transfers by coach. Also available for complimentary use are snorkeling gear, reef shoes and kayaks, lawn games, beach towels and laundry facilities (there is a fee for the dryers only.)
