Muri Beach Hideaway is a little paradise, tucked away in a secluded garden setting yet close to the heart of wonderful Muri Beach. Owned by Pauline, a local Cook Islander who lives on site and potters in her beautiful gardens there are just five self contained bungalows and pool on site, and no children under the age of 12. Muri Beach Hideaway is a top choice for a really peaceful getaway in this fantastically located yet secluded ‘secret garden’.

The entrance to the property is set right back off the main road, and found through a flowery archway and crossing a wooden bridge over a stream jammed with lotus flowers. The small site is abundant with trees, plants and bright tropical flowers; putting you in mind of a Secret Garden. The bungalows themselves are as wonderful as their surroundings; each one decorated naturally with Polynesian bamboo walls and high ceilings, modern rattan furniture, wooden flooring and Pacific artwork on the walls. The gardens lead you past the bungalows and pool to the sun deck at the rear which has expansive views of Muri Lagoon. Steps lead down from the deck directly onto Muri beach - the best swimming beach on Rarotonga.
There are just 5 Bungalows, all similarly decorated inside and offering the same amenities. Proximity to the beach determines the price – there is 1 of each ‘Beachfront’ ‘Lagoon View’ and ‘Garden’ Bungalows, and then 2 ‘Lotus’ Bungalows furthest from the beach, overlooking the picturesque entrance.
Every bungalow has a spacious open-plan living/sleeping area with ceiling fan, split-king bed, TV, comfy seats and dining table and chairs. The sliding doors open out onto the private deck with further table and chairs. At the back of each bungalow is a private bathroom with shower and hairdryer, and there is a separate fully-equipped kitchen with fridge-freezer, 2-ring hob, microwave and electric kettle. Each bungalow comes complete with books, towels, beach towels, iron and board and a laundry airer.
