Manuia Beach Hotel is a small boutique style resort located on the west coast of Rarotonga, right on a long expanse of sandy beach. The 24 bright comfortable rooms in traditional thatched buildings are set amongst attractive tropical flora threaded by winding sandy pathways. The beach is overlooked by an ‘infinity pool’, and the poolside decking leads you down to the sand-floored beachside restaurant and bar. With no children under 12 years allowed, this is a great choice for those seeking a peaceful and relaxing holiday.

Accommodation is either in one of six Beachfront or 18 Garden rooms. Two of the Garden rooms are set further back in a secluded area, surrounded by palms that provide welcome shade. All rooms sleep a maximum of 3 people; in king-size double plus single bed in the Beachfront rooms, and a queen plus single bed in the Garden rooms.
All rooms come with air-conditioning and ceiling fan, private terrace, fridge, tea and coffee-making facilities, secure safe and CD/radio/alarm. A complimentary bottle of champagne awaits all guests in their rooms on arrival, and the price of the room includes daily breakfast buffet. Rooms are serviced daily, including fresh drinking water stocked up in the fridge.
On-site amenities include the appealing beachfront ‘infinity’ swimming pool, thatched-roof beach restaurant and bar, beach loungers with umbrellas, poolside shower, complimentary snorkelling equipment, internet facilities, TV lounge, tour desk, 2- and 4-seater bike rental, small souvenir shop at reception, laundry facilities (for a fee), and luggage store and shower room for guests requiring late checkout. The lagoon infront of Manuia is partly rocky and not particularly good for swimming, although snorkelling is OK in the outer lagoon. Scuba Diving and car rental can also be arranged nearby. Avarua Town is a ten minute drive to the north and there are several good restaurants walking distance.
The on-site “Right on the Beach” restaurant and bar is open all day, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The a-la-carte menu offers meat, fish and seafood dishes for an average of NZ$ 26, with a further ‘Specials’ menu of chicken, salads and pasta. The dinner menus are available 5 nights a week, with a barbecue offered every Wednesday, and “Island Night” every Saturday which includes an island dance show. The bar has a daily happy hour, and is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the spectacular sunset views.
