Crown Beach Resort is set on a secluded beach front on the west coast of Rarotonga and enjoys breathtakingly vibrant sunset vistas and amazing snorkelling in the crystal-clear lagoon. The 4.5 acre site features paved pathways winding through tall tropical flora in sandy gardens, fronting an idyllic shoreline. The 24 deluxe private villas are all stylishly decorated and feature wonderful and striking wooden furnishings. Children are allowed to stay, but by request only.
All the villas are self-contained and well-equipped with modern facilities as you would expect with this standard of accommodation. Kitchens come complete with fridge, microwave, and 2-ring cook-top. Living areas have 2 plush, comfortable sofas, coffee table, TV, DVD player, telephone, and attractive dining table and chairs. The separate bathrooms are spacious with ceramic basins and big glass shower units, and the bedrooms have gorgeous wooden fittings and king-size beds. The décor is light and bright with tiled floors throughout and colourful touches everywhere.
There are 10 Beachfront Spa Villas that sleep a maximum of 4. These are either rectangular or octagonal, all with 100 square meters of living space, and feel huge and very spacious inside. The massive bedroom features a super-king bed, and the sun deck stepping down onto the sand has its own sun beds.
The 12 One-Bedroom Garden/Poolside Villas are identical, sleeping 3 people. Octagonal in shape they have 65 square meters of space, with separate bedroom and bathroom, open-plan kitchen and living areas, and large outdoor decking area with table and chairs. The 2 Two-Bedroom Garden/Poolside Villas are 90 meters square and sleep up to 5 people.
The 14 Courtyard Villas were completed in 2007. These luxury bungalows have 140 square meters of living space and sleep 3 people. Luxury features include a private courtyard with gazebo and plunge pool with waterfall.
The beautiful white coral sand beach is a wonderful place for a romantic sunset or moonlit stroll. The stunning clear-blue lagoon has a coral-strewn sea bed providing fantastic snorkeling, and there is a sandy area just 20 meters away for swimmers.
Complimentary for all guests are snorkelling equipment, kayaks, use of the gym, and evening turndowns. On-site there is a large freshwater swimming pool with waterfall, a Five-Star PADI Dive Centre, and a spa treatment offering massages and beauty therapy. There is also a Business Centre with broadband and wireless internet access, fax and photocopier, and In-House Functions Coordinator.
Crown Beach Resort is a beautiful spot for a wedding, and there are different wedding packages available and an In-House Wedding Coordinator. Other on-site services and facilities include 24 hour security, luggage store, day use room, tour desk, gift shop, vehicle rental, DVD hire, room service, car park, and laundry facilities (for a fee).
There are 2 restaurants on-site; ‘Oceans’ which is open weekdays for breakfast, lunch and dinner (but closed for dinner at weekends.) The simple menu offers meat, fish and light dishes for NZ$15-32. It also puts on theme nights – Seafood Night on Thursdays, and Island Night on Tuesdays costing around NZ$55 for a buffet dinner, dessert and entertainment show. There is also a Sunday BBQ lunch for around NZ$25. The second, ‘Windjammer restaurant’ offers fine dining every night but Tuesday. Dishes here are very reasonable, at up to NZ$35.
