The 11 bungalows are simply furnished with the same facilities in each: shower room, full kitchen including fridge/freezer, gas 2-ring cook-top, electric kettle and toaster, ceiling fan, clock/radio, table and chairs, and safety box. Complimentary tea and coffee are provided on arrival, and rooms are serviced daily except Sundays.
There are 6 Sea View Bungalows sleeping 3 people in a double and single bed, and 5 Garden Bungalows sleeping 2 people in a double bed, although an extra single can be put in for a third person on request. All are fully-screened and have a private balcony with extra table and chairs and wonderful views – even the Garden Bungalows have a partial sea view. The Sea View Bungalows that face east have extensive views over the lagoon to the opposite motus, and the historic ‘Avana Passage’ where the seven canoes set sail for Aotearoa in the 1300’s. On a clear night guests in these bungalows are treated to the beautiful site of the moon rising between the motus.
The site has direct access to the shallow north-end of Muri Lagoon, which you can walk across to the motus, or at low tide you can walk along the coast to sandy

Beach
with its safe all-tide swimming (at high tide its best to walk along the road). Guests can relax on the huge communal decking area overlooking the lagoon, and make use of the barbecue here. Small weddings can also be arranged at this beautiful and tranquil site. Other on-site facilities include telephone (requires a card,) tour desk, and laundry service for a fee. The bus stops right outside the property for the 20-minute journey to
Avarua
Town
, and it is only a short walk for car rental and nearby shops and restaurants.
With friendly attentive staff and no children under 12 permitted, Aroko is a great choice for those on a budget who seek peace and privacy, yet wish to be near the beach and amenities.
